Auroa winning day

Auroa winning day  16/3/2016

Thump thump!! I was stepping towards the athletics track nervously. Seeing other schools there I thought it wasn’t going to be the same there but it ,wasn't so that was a relief. “Can the 12 year olds go to the McDonolds tent” said the lady. 

There was only two student in each race. Bang! The gun went off. We were all shouting for my sister. “Go Aliyha” shouted Auroa school. It was good that  Aliyha won. I was so pumped to do my race.

“Let's go Auroa lets go” clap clap. We were singing our theam song for Athlethics. It was almost my race we only had one more race until my race.

“Can the nine year olds please go to the McDonolds tent” said the lady. Walking to the tent very nervously but also pumped. I was thinking to myself “finally my race is up”. Then I heard…….

“On your marks get set Go!!” Yelled the starter with a bang! I sprinted with a thud. “Go Baba” shouted Mum with excitement. I felt like I was going to be pass out. “Yay I came first” I thought to myself. It was good that me and Paige came first and second so we get more points for our school.

Time for the relays. The five and six year old team went first. Snap!! Went the two rectangular prices of wood. Then the 7 and 8 year olds and after that it was my team. Charlotte went first then me. “No” I was yelling in my mind because I dropped the batten, but I put us from last to first, by sprinting. I almost pass out after that.

“Can the nine years olds go to the high jump” said the lady. “ Yay time to go” I said. When we were doing high jump lots of people got out. It was only Paige, Caro and me left. I finally  got out then Paige then Caro.

The lady said the results.” Kaponga last, St pats 4th, Manaia 3rd, Matapo 2nd and Auroa school first”.” Yay “ yelled Auroa. We go our hands on the shield 3 years in a row.” Click!” The camera went off.

Walking back to the car but then mum said “ who wants ice cream” we all yelled out “yes”. I had a chocolate and strawberry ice cream.
